About Borehole Drilling UK

A UK directory to help you find borehole drilling companies and decide who to contact about your project.

What the directory is for

Borehole Drilling UK brings company information together so you can explore borehole drilling services by location and service. The directory is operated by The Borehole Drilling Directory. We provide a starting point for enquiries; we do not carry out drilling, survey sites or prepare quotations on behalf of listed companies.

Borehole projects have different requirements. A water supply for a home, an agricultural installation, a ground-source heating project and a site investigation may need different experience and equipment. Use the services described on each company profile to build a shortlist, then discuss your specific requirements directly with the company.

Coverage and inclusion

UK borehole drilling companies represented by the published listings in this directory.

This directory contains listings selected for publication by its operator. It is not a complete survey of every business.

A company's listed address identifies a business location and does not establish its full service area. Some companies travel beyond their home county, while others accept only certain types or sizes of project. An area page is a way to discover listings, rather than a promise that every company on it will work at your site.

How we present information

Pages use approved directory data. Missing information means unknown; publication and download dates do not certify factual verification.

Profiles may include a business description, services, photographs, website, telephone number and address where those details are available. A missing service, photograph or contact detail does not mean that the company cannot help. Equally, a published description is not an independent assessment of workmanship, insurance or professional credentials.

Inclusion is not accreditation or a recommendation. Descriptions of qualifications, memberships and experience should be checked with the company and, where relevant, the issuing organisation. Map positions and distances are approximate and do not establish travelling time or site access.

Choosing a drilling company

Before commissioning work, ask prospective contractors to explain:

  • Their experience with your intended use and with similar site conditions.
  • What site assessment they need, including access for drilling rigs and supporting equipment.
  • What the quotation includes, such as drilling, casing, pumps, testing, treatment and reinstatement.
  • How they handle uncertain depth, water yield, ground conditions and changes to the scope or price.
  • Who will establish any permissions, notifications, testing or other requirements for the project.
  • Insurance, written terms, timescales, payment stages and aftercare arrangements.

The directory cannot establish whether drilling is feasible at an individual property or predict the quantity or quality of water a borehole might produce. Seek advice appropriate to your site before committing to work.

Sponsored listings

Where paid promotional placements appear, they are identified as sponsored. Paying for visibility does not establish technical competence, guarantee a result or make a company suitable for your project. The same checks apply to sponsored and other listings.

Corrections and suggestions

Company services, trading names and contact details can change. If you spot an error, see our contact page for the information to include with a correction. You can also suggest a company for consideration or report a duplicate, closed business or concern about content. Suggestions do not guarantee inclusion or a particular position.

Read our terms and conditions and privacy notice for more about using the directory.
