About the company

BMD Renewables designs, builds and operates large-scale ground-source heating and cooling systems for buildings, developments and heat networks. Its specialist geo-exchange approach uses the earth as both a source of low-carbon heat and a thermal store, helping clients reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions and reliance on gas.

The company supports projects from early site evaluation and feasibility work through concept design, cost modelling, consenting, funding support and detailed system design. Its delivery capability includes borehole drilling, heat-pump installation and distribution infrastructure, with projects managed either as principal contractor or as part of a wider supply chain.

Geo-exchange technology is designed to work in challenging or space-constrained locations, using fewer boreholes and less surface area than traditional ground-source approaches. The systems can recover and store heat from sources such as cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, wastewater and ambient air, while integrating with existing systems and building-management tools.

BMD Renewables works with developers, network owners, businesses, universities, industrial facilities, food retailers, aviation clients and residential or mixed-use schemes. Once systems are operating, clients can also access monitoring, alerting, performance management and maintenance support aimed at keeping the installation efficient and reliable over the long term.
