Hydracrat Ltd is a specialist rotary drilling contractor based in Cleland, serving projects across Scotland and beyond. The company focuses on ground investigation, water wells, geothermal boreholes, earthing rod installations and large-diameter drilling, supported by a fleet of HYCAT rigs designed, built and maintained in-house.

For private, agricultural and commercial water supplies, Hydracrat can support the process from geological desk study and probe drilling through to production borehole construction. Its installation work includes well screens, submersible pumps, motors, riser pipes and cabling. The team also offers advice on groundwater investigation, abstraction testing, fault-finding and refurbishment, including high-pressure air flushing where sediment affects a well.

Geothermal work covers both closed-loop and open-loop ground source heat pump boreholes, including collector loops, casing, grouting, downhole equipment and thermal response testing. Hydracrat works with heat-pump suppliers, installers and design specialists on domestic, commercial and industrial schemes, helping clients assess the practical requirements of challenging sites.

Ground investigation services include rotary open-hole and core drilling, dynamic sampling, standard penetration testing, monitoring installations, logging and reporting. The low-ground-pressure tracked fleet is designed for difficult terrain such as peat, forestry, farmland, quarries and former opencast sites, helping reduce the need for temporary access roads and minimise ground disturbance. Its project experience spans homes, farms, golf and leisure sites, infrastructure, renewable-energy developments and industrial land.
